I hope you all had a lovely time over the Bank Holiday Weekend. The weather was excellent!
I was out on Friday evening and had a really nice time. Lots of nice folk in town. A lovely atmosphere.
Saturday dawned bright and sunny. I worked till midday, then watched some racing on tv and spent the evening at home.
Sunday again was bright and sunny so I had my kippers for breakfast on teh Poop Deck, before joining Nick at the Bowling Green to hep out with some gardening work. The place looks better now! Afterwards had time for a game. Very pleasant. Then on teh Poop Again and did not go out for Cocktails as the town was so busy that it would have been unlikely to get space. Had a very nice dinner and a glass ( or two ) of Malbec. had some good music on and I enjoyed my evening. The Godfather was on at 10 so I stayed up to watch that for the umpteenth time!
Monday dawned sunny again so I had a little bike ride. Pottered around and tidied up teh Poop Deck. Looks smarter now. Had a nice tea at Clare's then home again to another evening "in".
A nice weekend.

Another cool morning. But dry and a bit cloudy/ Perhaps the sun will break through this afternoon?
I had a good day yesterday receiving Instructions on a flat in Barrow. The traffic there is awful. Abbey Road has temporary traffic lights again and further down, near the Custom House it is even worse.
I joined my friend in he Rose, then to the Hope. then Farmers and ende up in the Piel!! Wow!

Another chilly morning. Cloudy but dry. Perhaps warming up a bit this afternoon?
I have seen on tv the disquiet over the illegal immigrants arriving every day in boats from France and then while awaiting assessment, are housed in hotels around teh country. It is causing the local population to raise loud objections as to the treatment of the immigrants as compared to legitimate residents of this country. Some local councils are challenging teh Home Office on the issue. I understand that over 50,000 have arrived in small boats so far this year. Suggestions have been made to use former service Barracks or the like. It poses a massive problem for the government.
It is Bank Holiday Weekend. " Black Eye Friday and Super Sunday".. There will be crowds in town.
