TUESDAY 10th February
Another wet morning here in Ulverston! But certainly not anywhere near as bad as the south of the country which is sufering severe flooding. Again.
But yesterday was a memorable day! My granddaughter Marissa produced a lovely baby boy weighing in at 6lb10oz. Fabulous news, with mother and baby doing well. So too was the happy father, Ben! Great news!!

I hope you all had a pleasant weekend despite the weather!
Th3e trouble caused by Peter Mandelson is growing and the Prime Minister is to address his MP's this morning. What is he going to say? Let's wait and see?
The Winter Olympics have started. Fantastic stuff! Such skill and daring.
I went to the Capitola on Sunday afternoon as "Bobby Q" was singing. A lovely atmosphere with lots ofg lovely people.

THURSDAY 5th February
Cold and windy here in Ulverston! Some rain is expected too.
It was the funeral of my old friend Dr Spanner yesterday at the Parish Church. As funerals go, it was one of the nicest I have attended. The music was lovely . A solo was played by Katherine Bryan, who is the principal flautist of the Scottish National Orchestra and is the goddaughter of Dr Spanner.
More revelations are emerging from teh millions of files of Geoffrey Epstein. The two principal targets presently are the former Prince Andrew adn Peter Mandelson. There is little doubt that there may be many others who will be very worried? Pressure is on the PM as he appointed Mandelson to the position of Ambassador to the U.S. Much more is to be revealed.
I watched a couple more episodes of Last Tango in Halifax. What a brilliant series it is.
