There has been some more rain overnight and nthere has been a few splashes this morning too. More showers can be expected. It's rather cool too, not surprising I suppose.
In America, there has been a big fallout between President Trump and Elon Musk. The richest man in the world and the most powerful man in the world. It will all end in tears! President Trump is saying he might sell the Tesla car he bought. Kids spitting dunnies out? The world is in turmoil since the tariff declarations and it may take some time, and considerable effort, to get back on an even keel.
It is the Appleby Horse Fair and it is an event that I have visited many times. But I have decided to "give it a miss" this year. This wet weather will put a few people off, and "the Hill" will be boggy. It is a fantastic event which should really be seen at least once in a lifetime.

It is 81 years since the Normandy Landings, D-DAY!! The most fantastic , Massive invasion ever. Everything was incredible. Such a huge number of troops, ships, vehicles, guns, and other equipment. Magnificent organisation.
There has been some further rainfall during the night but it is clearing nicely now and we might end up with a pleasant day.
I played bowls last evening, wearing my new spectacles. And, guess what? I won!! 21-11 How about that? Who is a happy boy?

After heavy rain overnight, the skies have cleared and we now have bright sunshine and blue skies. But still rather cool if you are standing in a shadow!
I had a nice day on Wednesday, even though it was my "day off" I found that there was some important work to complete, so I did so!. So it feels better when I clear up any backlog.
I got some good news from the opticians to tell me that my new spectacles were available to collect, which was a surprise as I had not expected them until the middle of next week. They are excellent!
There was a bowl match in the evening but I was NOT SELECTED! What are things coming to? I went along, nevertheless, to offer support to teh team

Some rain showers are expected today, so be prepared and carry a brolly with you! It is remaining rather cool, some 0 degrees or more, from last week at least.
I saw that the windows of Oxfam are empty, and by peering through the windows, I could see that everything else seems to have gone too. What is happening?.
It will not be long before it is "Dave's Day" when thousands of motorbikes descend on Barrow having completed the marathon journey from London. All the money raised is for charity of course. I will be watching, no doubt with many others, from the roadside. adn cheering them on.
There are 2 bowling matches this week ( Wednesday and Thursday) so I hope they are not spoiled by any rain showers.
