A rather damp and chilly morning here is Ulverston. Some windy weather is expected too.
I hope you all had a good weekend. I had a busy day on Friday then joined Adam and Petger in the evening for a good catch-up and a couple of pints of Guinness.
I worked till mid-day on Saturday then visited and old friend in teh nursing home. Afterwards, I enjoyed the racing on tv. "Constitution Hill" was the odds-on favorite at 1-12 !!!!!!
Sunday came rather damp and windy so I spent most of my day indoors generally pottering around. before getting washed and polished to join my friends for Cocktails@5. Always a pleasant way to end the week.
I heard teh sad news that PETER KITCHIN had passed away. He had been ill for quite some time but nevertheless, it does still come as sad news. He was such a nice man and a good friend. Many will remember him of "Inspirations" for newspapers and greetings cards of course.

I am sorry that I am so far behind with my blog but I have been in Melksham in Wiltshire to attend the funeral of my younger brother NEWTON which took place on Wednesday 22nd. It was very well attended,. The Crematorium was full. Judith managed the tragic event so well. Lots of the family were there, including Martin, Lyn, Any, Graham, Kay, Miah, Olivia, Harvey, Michael, Brenda, Dennis, Lisa, Ednna, Robin and me.
Robin, my youngest brother, kindle drove down from Newcastle to pick me up and drove all the way down to Melsham. and he brought me back too, of course. Funerals are never happy events but on this occasion, after the funeral itself there was lots of laughter when we recalled p; past occasions with ny brother. R.I.P.NEWTON SPOURS

The ceasefire in Gaza has started and there has been a prisoner and hostage exchange. Controversial in itself but having a ceasefire is a marvelous relief. I do sincerely hope that it is sustained.
